Laina & Mantis

In late 2018 I had the pleasure of being a part of this production as the editor. The director, a dear friend of mine, Matej Balaz worked with the City of Abbotsford to find Laina and her son Mantis. It was a pleasure to be a part of the making of this documentary film and to work so closely with so many talented artists to give a voice to such a powerful and important story.

"Laina quit going to school half way through grade 8 and never went back. She started using drugs and working the streets at a very young age. When Laina found out she was expecting Mantis everything changed."
